In the office

The whole company on one screen.

These are Cannonball's own screens, from a demonstration company of 900 pools and 16 technicians.

The Today screen at 11:56 in the morning: a glass filling as stops are finished, at 87 of 180, with how many technicians are at a pool, on the road, stopped or not started; requests, the inbox, quotes out and money outstanding; each technician's day as a line, the ones behind first; and Cal saying that one technician has not started and offering to spread the stops.

Who it is for

One truck, or a whole crew.

The same app either way, and the same price for each technician. What matters most is different.

On your own truck

You own the company and do every stop yourself.

  • $49 a month: you are the one technician, and every feature is in it
  • The office on your phone: who owes you, who has paid, and your customers' requests
  • Each customer's report goes out after you finish the stop, with photos and the water in plain words
  • Keeps working with no signal, and sends it all once you are back in range
  • The month billed in one click, paid by card or AutoPay into your own bank
See the office on your phone

Running a crew

You have technicians on the road, and maybe somebody in the office.

  • Every truck on one map, each stop ticked off as it is done
  • The whole week on one board, and who is too busy
  • A check-in at the pool and photos from the camera before a stop can be finished, if you ask for them
  • Somebody off for a day? Tell Cal who takes their stops, just for that day
  • Timesheets and labor cost per pool, and office logins are free
See proof of service

See it work

Watch it do the work.

Recorded in the demonstration company, and sped up in places.

Tell Cal, in your own words.

"Devon Pratt is off on Monday. Give his stops to Maya Ortiz, just for that day." Cal shows exactly what it will change, says what that means for Maya, and does it when you say so.

A stop, start to finish.

Check in, type the readings, and the app works out the balance and what to add. Finish, and the customer's report is on its way.

Water chemistry

It does the chemistry, and says it plainly.

Type the readings. Cannonball knows each pool's size and sanitizer, works out the balance and says how much to add. The customer's report puts every reading beside what went in for it.

  • Last visit's reading under every box
  • Amounts for the pool's own gallons
  • Your own products and prices

On the phone

Made for the truck, the pool deck and the sun.

Big numbers and big buttons. Readings, photos and chemicals at each stop, and the route in order.

Today's route on the phone: eleven stops with seven done, a finished stop ticked, the next stop lifted with its number and gate code, and notes on the ones still to come.
Today's route, in order
A stop's readings as gauges with last visit's value under each and two marked low, the water marked slightly corrosive, and a suggestion to add 61.65 fluid ounces of liquid chlorine.
Readings, with what to add
Visit complete: Cal splashes up, the report goes to the customer at 12:46 pm and the visit can be changed until then, with the pH, chlorine, alkalinity and calcium, and a button for the next stop.
Finished, and the report is on its way

On Google Play today: Cannonball Pool Service for your team, and My Pool for your customers. The iPhone apps are on their way.

On the wrist

Say the readings. Cal files the visit.

Tap the pool on the watch and tell Cal the readings, what went in and what you did, in your own words. Each one lands on the water as you say it. Nothing to type, and no phone out of your pocket with wet hands.

A round watch showing the next stop on the pool's dimmed water: Lucia Okafor, 2681 SE 24th Ave, stop 8 of 8, and a Directions button.
Swipe for the next stop
An Apple Watch whose whole screen is a pool seen from above, with a visit on the water around Cal's light: pH 7.9 marked high and free chlorine 3 on gauges, alkalinity 95 and stabilizer 40, a gallon of liquid chlorine and two chlorine tabs, and two jobs ticked.
The visit, as Cal hears it
A round watch showing the day: 7 of 8 stops done on a ring, and what went in today, 8 tabs, 3.8 gallons and 121 pounds.
And the day so far

In testing now on Wear OS watches. The Apple Watch app is on its way.

For the owner

Your whole office, on your phone.

When the company is yours, the app on your phone is the office too: what is owed and who has paid, every text and request from your customers, your week with the weather on it, and Cal to do the rest.

  • Your customers' texts and requests in one Inbox, new leads from your website marked
  • A payment recorded in seconds, and what each pool really earns
  • The week with the forecast, and a stormy day moved in a few taps
A quote on the customer's phone from Blue Horizon Pools for Stan Kowalski, for a pump that will not prime, with three options to choose from: repair the motor for $375.00, a new motor for $595.00, or a variable-speed pump for $1,825.00.

Quotes and the price book

Give them a choice, priced your way.

Keep every part, job and service in one price book, with your own markups and your hourly rate. A quote is built from it in a few taps, with up to three options, and the customer picks one and approves it from their phone.

  • A job's price worked out as you type, with what it costs you and what you keep
  • Repair, replace or upgrade side by side, and the customer chooses
  • Bring in your own price list or your QuickBooks products, and download it any time
A visit report in the customer's My Pool app: Luis came and was on site 29 minutes, marked verified, with photos of the pool after service and of the water tested on site, and the water chemistry.

For the customer

Every visit, reported.

After each visit your customer gets the report by email and in the My Pool app: who came, photos of the pool, and the water in plain words. In My Pool they can also see how long the technician stayed, if you turn that on. Their visits and invoices are in the same place.

  • Marked verified when the visit meets your rules: photos from the camera, a check-in at the pool
  • Your logo and your name on every report
  • In English or Spanish, whichever the customer reads
The visit text on a customer's phone, from (239) 555-0142: Blue Horizon Pools. Luis serviced your pool today at 1:35 pm. The water test: pH 8.0, added 40 fl oz of muriatic acid; chlorine 2.2, added about 1.3 gal of liquid chlorine; stabilizer 45, added 2.5 lb; salt 2,855, alkalinity 90, calcium 391, water 84°F. Next visit Thursday, October 29. A link to the full report and photos, and Reply STOP to opt out.

Texting

Still texting every customer by hand?

After each visit, Cannonball writes the text for you: who came and when, each reading and what went in for it, the work done, the next visit, and a link to the full report and photos. It goes from your company's own number, with your name at the top.

  • Only to customers who agreed to texts, with how and when they agreed written down
  • A change to their day, an invoice to pay and a quote to approve go by text as well
  • STOP stops them at once, START brings them back, and HELP answers with your phone and email
  • Their replies land on their page and in your Inbox, and you answer from there

Texts start once your company's own number is registered with the phone carriers. Until then, every report goes by email and to My Pool.

For property managers

Every pool they look after, in one app.

Put a property manager's or a realtor's email on each customer whose pool they look after, and My Pool lists every one of those pools under More. A tap opens the next one, with its own readings, visits and bills, without signing in again.

  • Their pools listed by street, the one they are looking at marked
  • One tap from one pool to the next
  • Their email can be the customer's own, or a contact's

In My Pool on Android today.

Proof of service

Did every pool get its visit?

An owner should not have to drive the route to find out, and a customer should not have to take anybody's word for it. Every stop leaves its proof, and the office sees it as it happens.

The live map with Maya Ortiz's day chosen: her route through Cape Coral as a line and her pools done along it, and beside it her day: finished at 2:28 pm, 11 of 11 stops done, nowhere today but her pools; under that, the office's list of technicians.
  • Checked in at the pool. By the phone's GPS, or by scanning the code on a sticker at the pool's equipment, which can only be done standing there. Every stop's arrival, departure and time on site are kept.
  • Photos from the camera. Ask for them, and for them to come from the camera rather than the phone's library, and a stop cannot be finished without them.
  • Every truck on one map. Each technician's day as a line, recorded once they have agreed, with each pool marked as it is done. Each truck has its name and plate, and the Team page says who has it or that it is in the yard.
  • The customer sees it too. Their report says who came and when, with the photos and the water, and is marked Verified when the visit met your rules.

Water you can trust

Is the water being tested, or typed?

A technician in a hurry can fill in the boxes from memory, and a pool that reads 0.8 one week and 6.5 the next is being dosed wrong or not read at all. Either way the owner should know before the customer calls. Cannonball looks in three places.

A stop on the technician's phone with pH typed as 72: a warning says pH 72 can't be right, expected 6 to 9, test again, and the finish button reads Check the pH reading.
At the pool. A reading no test can give is refused on the spot: "pH 72 can't be right. Test again." The visit cannot be finished until it is fixed, so a typo never reaches the customer's report.
target 2 to 5 Tested at the pool Maya Ortiz, in the demonstration company: 316 readings, 57 different values Typed from memory An example, for comparison 78% read 3.0 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 free chlorine, ppm target 2 to 5 Tested at the pool Maya Ortiz, in the demonstration company: 316 readings, 57 different values Typed from memory An example, for comparison 78% read 3.0 0 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 free chlorine, ppm
Across a technician's visits. Water that is really tested gives a spread of numbers. Numbers typed from memory keep landing on the same one. Cal lists every technician by how often their readings repeat, and says the top of the list is worth a look, not an accusation.
Across a pool's visits. Ask Cal which pools will not settle. It lists them, widest swing first, with how many readings were out of range, and each one opens the pool's page.

Prospecting

New customers cost too much to find.

The cheapest one is the pool a few doors from a stop you already make. Cannonball looks at the satellite picture around a stop, or a whole day of stops, finds the houses with a pool that are not your customers yet, and makes the walking list for door hangers.

  • Scan around one stop or the whole day, or mark a pool on the map yourself
  • Print the walking list, and each stop on the phone shows the pools nearby, marked Hung or No answer even with no signal
  • A point for each door hanger hung at the house, and ten more when it becomes a customer; you say what a point is worth, and it shows on Payroll
The Prospects map over satellite pictures of Cape Coral's canal streets: the day's stops numbered in orange, and around eleven of them the pools found from the air, marked new, no answer or hung.

Keeps working when the signal doesn't.

Readings, photos and chemicals save on the phone and sync when it is back in range.

Switching over

Your whole book, in one file.

Export your customer list from the system you use now, or bring the spreadsheet you keep. One import brings in every customer and pool, with their service days, technicians and monthly prices.

  • Each pool goes onto its technician's route, on its days
  • Stops for a technician who has not joined yet wait until they do
  • All of it goes in or none of it does, and the same file twice adds nothing twice
  • Your customers, invoices, payments and prices in your own Google Sheet, kept up to date

If your columns do not line up, book a call and we will bring it across with you.

Questions

Before you start.

Who counts as a technician?

Anyone who runs a route or has the technician role. An owner who does their own stops counts as one, and every company pays for at least one. Office logins are free, however many there are.

What happens after the free month?

You give a card to start, and nothing is charged for 30 days. After that it is charged each month, in advance, for the technicians you have on the day the month starts. The free month is once per company.

Can I cancel?

Any time, in the console or by email. It ends with the month you have already paid for, and nothing more is charged. Your records are kept in case you come back, and we delete them if you ask.

Can I bring my customers across?

Yes, from a CSV or Excel file: the customer list your system exports, or the spreadsheet you keep. Each pool goes onto its technician's route on its days, with its monthly price, and a file imported twice adds nothing the second time. If your columns do not line up, book a call and we bring it across with you.

Does the app work without a signal?

Yes. Readings, photos, check-ins and finished stops are kept on the phone and sent once it is back in range.

Is there an iPhone app?

The technician app and My Pool, the app for your customers, are on Google Play today, and the iPhone apps are on their way. The office works in a web browser.

Is it in Spanish?

The technician app is in English and Spanish, as each technician chooses, and so are the reports and invoices your customers get, as each customer reads.
